Flying Fish Reservation Guide: Disney's BoardWalk Seafood Signature Dining
Flying Fish is on Disney's BoardWalk, the waterfront resort promenade that runs between the BoardWalk Inn and Villas and connects to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios via the waterways and walking paths. It is a signature dining restaurant anchored around fresh seafood, with a New American menu that changes seasonally rather than running the same dishes year-round, which is uncommon in the Disney dining landscape. No park ticket is required. This guide covers what makes Flying Fish worth booking, how the 60-day window works, and how to catch a table when the initial window closes.

What Makes Flying Fish Worth the Reservation
Seafood as the genuine focus. Flying Fish is not a kitchen that does everything competently. It is a kitchen that does seafood seriously. The menu centers on fresh fish preparations, shellfish, and seasonal ingredients. Sourcing and preparation are treated as the priority. For guests whose standard for a seafood dinner is set by coastal fine-dining restaurants, Flying Fish is in that conversation.
No park ticket required. The BoardWalk is a resort area, not a park. Guests can drive to the BoardWalk resort area, valet park, and have dinner at Flying Fish without a park ticket. This opens the restaurant to guests who are not running park days every day of their trip, guests arriving the evening before the parks, or guests who specifically want a fine-dining night outside the park environment.
EPCOT Boardwalk proximity. The BoardWalk runs directly from Flying Fish toward EPCOT's International Gateway entrance. After dinner, a walk around the illuminated Boardwalk and then into EPCOT's World Showcase for the evening is a natural extension of the night.
Seasonal menu changes. Flying Fish updates its menu with seasonal ingredients rather than running the same menu year-round. Repeat visits produce a different experience, which is uncommon in the Walt Disney World dining landscape where consistency is typically prioritized over seasonal change.
Intimate dining room scale. Flying Fish is a smaller, quieter space than the large-scale character dining restaurants and some of the other signature options. The atmosphere is more conducive to conversation and a slower, more deliberate meal pace.
How the 60-Day Booking Window Works
Walt Disney World dining reservations open at 6:00 AM Eastern, 60 days before your check-in date. Resort hotel guests can book their full stay window on that morning. Off-site guests book 60 days before each individual date.
Flying Fish is a signature restaurant and serves dinner only. The most in-demand times are Friday and Saturday evenings, peak-season weekend dates, and holiday periods. Midweek evenings during lower-demand travel windows can be more accessible.
Steps for your 60-day booking morning:
- Log into My Disney Experience before 6:00 AM Eastern with payment method saved.
- Know your preferred date and have two or three time windows in mind. Earlier slots and late slots are typically more available than the 7:00 to 8:00 PM window.
- At 6:00 AM, navigate directly to Flying Fish in the Dining section.
- Select date and party size and book immediately.
- If your preferred time is unavailable, check adjacent time slots before checking other dates.
For the complete 60-day booking strategy, see the Disney Dining Reservation Playbook.
Planning a Flying Fish Evening
Before dinner. The BoardWalk is a destination in itself. The promenade has bars, quick-service options, live entertainment, and the Jellyrolls dueling pianos venue. Arriving early to walk the BoardWalk before a Flying Fish reservation is a low-stress way to start the evening.
The EPCOT connection. EPCOT's International Gateway entrance is a short walk from the BoardWalk. Guests who want to extend the evening after dinner can walk into World Showcase. The entrance works for both entering and exiting. Check EPCOT's current evening entertainment schedule in advance.
Disney Skyliner access. The Disney Skyliner gondola system has a station near the BoardWalk area, connecting to Hollywood Studios and the EPCOT area. It is a convenient transportation option if your party is returning to a Skyliner-connected resort.
Attire and Occasion Appropriateness
Flying Fish is a signature dining restaurant. The atmosphere is upscale and the service standard is attentive. Guests consistently dress at business-casual to smart-casual level. Walt Disney World does not enforce a strict dress code at Flying Fish, but the room's atmosphere sets expectations.
For anniversary dinners, adult birthday dinners, or any occasion that benefits from a quieter and more formal setting, Flying Fish is a strong option. The setting and service are appropriate for milestone occasions without the themed spectacle of some other signature options.
Catching a Flying Fish Cancellation
Cancellations at Flying Fish follow the same pattern as other Disney signature restaurants. The 48 hours after the booking window opens surfaces corrections from guests with date conflicts. The week before the reservation date produces cancellations from guests whose travel plans shifted.
Prime evening slots on peak-demand dates can move quickly. A Saturday 7:30 PM reservation on a holiday week can disappear in under two minutes once it becomes available.
SpotSitter checks for available slots every minute on paid plans. When a table opens, your phone gets an alert in about 90 seconds. You open My Disney Experience and book the table with your own credentials. We do not store your Disney credentials. Ever.
The Founder plan at $49/month covers five concurrent watches, which is useful for guests running simultaneous watches on Flying Fish and other signature dining options. See SpotSitter pricing.
Large Party Considerations
Flying Fish is on the smaller side for a signature restaurant. Larger party configurations, particularly six or more guests, may face meaningfully different availability than smaller parties. If you are booking for a group, focus on the 60-day morning for the best chance of securing an appropriate table configuration.
What to Do When a Spot Opens
When SpotSitter sends an alert, act quickly. Have My Disney Experience ready on your phone with your login active before the watch goes live. When the notification arrives, navigate to Flying Fish, confirm your party size and payment details, and complete the booking.
